The Coburg Convent (CC) is one of the largest federations resounding fraternities. Every year, several thousand frat brothers meet in the small Bavarian town of Coburg North to their Pentecostal Congress. In this case, the “World War Heroes” is thought and a torchlight procession, followed by “ceremony” was held, which has no equal in its creepiness. Since the 1970s demonstrate people against this right-wing conservative rituals. In this case, the counter-protests have changed in character over the years again and again and were between also quite asleep. Since 2006 annually left-wing demonstrations take place in Coburg at Pentecost. But the protest, however, is confronted with extremely adverse circumstances that complicate the continuous anti-fascist work in addition.
Despite its size and relevance of the CC is addressed bit of criticism and the protests receive hardly any regional participation. This is due not least to the fact that student fraternities, right-wing Conservatives are largely spared of anti-fascist work. The not unimportant link between conservatives elites and extreme right is not considered. But it is precisely this milieu strengthens the right consensus in Germany. Addition to the presentation and analysis of the CC and the situation in Coburg there will be more about this year’s protests. Speaker of “Student fraternities dissolve!”
